I am researching a Philip Kroeger b. 1805, that settled in Lewis County, NY in the area of Constableville and West Leyden. The probably arrived in the U.S. in the early 1830s. We just recently found a clue that indicates that they were from Frohnhausen, Germany. In the States, they became Kraeger. Previous information said his wife was Franciska DENGE, but we have now found an indication on LDS IGI that he may have previously been married to Franciska REIFER in 1826. This IGI record indicates the marriage as being at " Frohnhausen Borgentreich". These two towns being about 6 miles apart, I have ordered films of the church records for both towns. Does your records for the Kroegers in that area show any Franciska DENGE or Franciska REIFER or Philip Kroeger b. 1805? Since you have obviously researched the area, can you offer any advice or tips? Traps to watch out for? thanks, Jim Notify Administrator about this message?
