Carole seems we are cousins, sorry got really busy haven't had much time to work on this. Have rededicated myself to the project. I am confused on Nels dad, I have information that it is not Alfred, but it might be Ludwig. I keep running into road blocks similar to you. It appears that Nels has married twice, first to Charity Clanin and that is where Clyde and Viola are tied to, she appears to have passed in 1891 and is buried in Davenport Washington. Then nels remarried Phebe Blanding. What is interesting is the 1880 census for Jewell Kansas has the three families, Krogh, Clanin, and Blandings living in the same district. This makes since since birth dates for Clyde and Viola are before the marriage date of Nels and Phebe. Any thoughts. You can e-mail me at chili1699@yahoo.com.
