Hi Audrey

Do you know exactly where your Arnold is from? The response you received from Dave Pohlman is of interest. The Heinrich that we are interested in was also shown in some documents as from Oldenburg and also just Hannover. We later found he was more exactly from Ostercappeln. While our Heinrich and your Heinrich are more then likely different people. Their ages and location makes it possible that they are the same. Our Heinrich was born in 1829, which would make him 19 when your Arnold was born. We have never heard that our Heinrich was married before he immigrated in 1860. But fact you mentioned about his first wife dying in childbirth in 1858, does make it possible.
Our Heinrich married Anna Maria Engle Grupenhoff. We do not know whether they were married in Germany or the USA. But they did immigrate together about the ship Uhland in 1860.
