Cheryl - thanks for the quick response! I'm going to keep your email for further reference. I have someone in Russia looking for the brothers and sisters. Quite possibly a connection, as the Gottschalk's who own the department stores called Gottschalk's were from the same area of California. I'll be trying to piece this all together for quite some time. Also, I heard from another person in Sacramento who is related to a Ludwig Gottschalk. Probably one generation earlier. Kroeger was a name I saw in the St. Pete's documents listing births, marriages, etc. I will check again - they end at 1885. I'll keep in touch if I find any new data. Best - Carol
