I am in search of any information concerning the Krohn family. Christian had 2 brothers John and Joachim he also had one sister named Mary. They had come to America from Meckelberg Germany on a sailing ship during the Civil War. Christian married a woaman named Dorothea Benning, she had come to Illinois with 2 children Henry and Carl she had been pregnant with a third who was named Wilhelm this was around 1860 or so. They had taken on the name Krohn, now if they were legaling adopted I don't know. Once carl was old enough he had gone out to California and never heard from again. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
