My grandmother was a Krohn, and from her aunt's family bible, we have the following record:
Benjamin Krohn, b. Nov 1826; m. Lydia; d. 1915 in Grand Rapids, Ohio. According to family lore, Benjamin and Lydia were "Pennsylvania Dutch." I do not know if this means then had come from Pennsylvania or whether they had come from Germany. I have not been able to trace anything earlier.
They had 9 children:
Franklin Krohn, b. 22 June 1862 in Grand Rapids, Ohio (Lucas Co.); m. Rosina Marie Kurtz 3 Sep 1857 in Toledo, Ohio. d. 1 Jan 1913.
Lewis C., b. 19 Mar 1892; d. 9 Jan 1956.
Nettie May, b. 30 Apr 1894; d. 3 Jan 1957, Emma Leona, b. 26 Aug 1896; m. Chauncey Jeffers; d. 22 Apr 1991.
George Leslie, b. 20 Sep 1898; d. 18 Dec 1969.
Della May, b. 26 Feb 1873; d. 3 Feb 1948
Adam, b. 18 Feb 1868
Wesley, b. 22 Oct 1878
Alice, b. 3 Apr 1865; d. 16 Mar 1868
Samuel, b. 28 Mar 1857; d. 8 Oct 1861
Ellen Jane, b. 13 Dec 1853; d. 12 Aug 1957
Sarah, b. 16 May 1859
Can anyone help in tracing the family back to Europe?
