I to have a Gerhart Krone in my family tree. He was born in Germany c.1863, but lists his fathers name as Gerhart also on his marriage certificate. He married in Liverpool, England 1885 and shortly after changed his name to Gerald Crown. I have it in good authority that he had a brother Henry (Heinrich) with whom he came to England, but who stayed only a short time before migrating to USA. I believe Henry can be found on the 1881 Census of England living in Liverpool and giving his place of birth as Bremen. Gerhart (Gerald) is not found on the census, but at the time of marriage his occupation was marine fireman, so he could have been out of the country - perhaps at sea or he may not have arrived in England until after the census was taken.
