Our great grandmother was Henrietta Kropp, born about 1840 in Pomerania, Preussen Germany. She married Wilhelm Kirchhoff.
Wilhelm & Henrietta, along with their children, appear in Germans to America book of passenger lists. They arrived in New York March 19, 1889. The name is spelled KIRSCHOFF and it lists Wilhelm as 48 yrs old, Henrietta also 48 and Frederick 9, Emma 8, Otto 6, Richard 3, William 18 months.Their older children must have come to USA at different times.
The ship's name was Moravia and it left the Hamburg & Harve port. According to this book, their village was (Hohenfelde-not on 1920 map, too small??)from Kries Dramburg, Rummelsburg, Prussia and their destination was Milwaukee.
1920 Census shows: 724 LAFOND AVENUE:Albert age 41, a Policeman for the City of St. Paul, the head of household, with wife Elsie 41 (Emma), daughters Elsie 16, Erma 14, & Lois 7 1/2, father-in-law William Kirchoff age, 80 and mother-in-law Henrietta, age 80. The census shows William and Henrietta emigrated to America in 1887, and were naturalized in 1894. Harry John Kirchoff was born at "724 LAFOND" in the Blossey home, formally the Kirchhoff home.
