Helo all together,
this are my first steps in the internet at all and I am glad to find the Genealogic Forum Krull. My family begins 1436 with Krull until 1559, further until 23.2.1665*Margreta Kroll, and 14.02.1666 again beginning with her brother Claus Krull.I can confirm everything that Betty wrote. I Found a Research about "Wendische Zu- und Familiennamen "(in the villages)editet by the wellknown Archivar Dr. Hans Witte and printet in the "Jahrbücher des Vereins für mecklenburgische Geschichte und Altertumskunde, 71. Jahrgang 1906.(Genealog. Gesellschaft Hamburg Nr. 75/3 or Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Hamburg SUB XI 889).Dr. Witte says:Name '350 Kroll Krolle :Kralj=König(King)Mikl.60 Nr. 176 (Krol)(oder eher niederdeutsch Krull=kraus (curly) see Krollhaar. Other spellings are 1585 Kruhl,1528 Kroel,1445 Krowel,155? Krhull,1538 Slichtekrull, 1545 Kruel,1508 Slichte Krull. The oldest Krull I found in Mecklenburg 1285 in Güstrow(Mecklenburger Urkundenbuch #1817).I found out that the name Krollow (changing ten years later as Kroll into Krullow)is in relationschip with the Krulls.
best greetings to al readers.
