If you can find the family in the Hamburg Departure ship lists, it usually shows the town in Germany. From there you could order the microfilm records from the parish that serves the town.
The 1900 to 1930 census gives the immigration year. Since Fred Kruse died before 1900, his immigration year is gone, however since his wife Henrietta Kruse nee Skewes was alive until 1911, she should be in the 1900 and 1910 census someplace.
Do you know where she was in 1900 to 1910, I can't seem to find her, do you know if she was living with one of her sons?
Once we find the immigration year, I can check my Germans To America. Do you know if any other families or relatives may have come with them, or do you have an approx immigration year. By looking the kids in 1800 they may have immigrated around 1862? Also I could not find them in the 1870 census in Cincinnati, do you know of another town? This record may give somemore clues and children?
