Is there anyone who has access to the microfilm for the two daily newspapers published in Atchison in 1878, or the Lancaster grave listings? I found a notice in the Lewistown Gazette (Mifflin County, PA) that Adam B. Seibert, formerly of McVeytown, died in Lancaster, Kansas on August 11, 1878. Adam was a wagonmaker in PA until 1870 and his wife, Mary (Baker) Seibert died in PA November 1876. Ten of his eleven children either remained in or returned to PA. One daughter, Helen, appears only once in the record (1850 census, b. about 1841), may have died or married before 1860. She or son Albert Seibert may have been with him in Kansas when he died. An obit for his son William (d. 1908) stated that he had a brother, Clay, in Lewistown and a "brother out west". This second brother, Albert B. Seibert, seems to have been in PA in 1900 and 1910.
