Hi Dan, I'm doing some research here (in Atchison) for your Peters(s)on's... I went and checked the Census records myself to see what was shown. So far, I have the following: ----------------------- 1900 Census - Atchison Co, KS, Ward 5: Chas Peterson age 53 Stone Mason Ada age 29 Hilda age 21 Sewing (Overall factory) Ella age 5 Annie age 3 Malesin age 1 (Malcolm is what I read) Chas b abt 1847 in Sweden Immigration year 1884 Chas, Ada, and Hilda were born in Sweden, the other 3 born in KS. ----------------------- 1910 Census - Atchison Co, KS, Ward 5: Charles Peterson age 62 Stone Mason, house industry Addie age 38 Ella age 14 Seamstress (Overall factory) Annie age 13 Malcomb age 11 Carl age 9 Alfred age 5 Helen age 2 Charles b abt 1847/1848 Immigration year 1885 ----------------------- 1920 Census - Atchison Co, KS, Ward 5: Ida Peterson age 49 Annie age 23 Printer, Print shop Carl age 18 Molder, Foundry Alfred age 15 Helen age 12 Otto age 7 Ida Peterson b abt 1871, Sweden Immigration Year 1893 Widow ----------------------- 1930 Census - Atchison Co, KS, Ward 5: Ida Peterson age 59 Alfred age 25 Foreman Helen age 22 Waitress Otto age 17 ----------------------- They lived at the same address all of these census years: 905 Ann Street. Now, I also found in the 1895 Kansas State Census Collection: Chas Peterson Census Date: 1 Mar 1895 Residence Co: Atchison Residence State: Kansas Locality: Atchison Birth Location: Sweden Family Number: 5 Gender: Male Est Birth Year: abt 1848 Chas Peterson age 47 M b. Sweden Stone Mason Ida age 24 F b. Sweden Willie/Willis ? age 22 M b. Sweden Laborer Hilda age 16 F b. Sweden 'Baby' age 2M F b. Kansas ---------------------- Passenger & Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s Frans Peterson Year: 1902 Age: 29 Est Birth Year: abt 1873 Place: Alabama ---------------------- I am now in the process of checking the burial records for Atchison Co. So far, I think I've found: Otto (pretty sure on this one) Alfred " Carl maybe Helen maybe As soon as I can get their info (from records and their gravestones (which I photograph for another website) I'll let you know what I find. I hope to get out to the cemeteries this weekend (if the weather gets halfway nice).. if not, in the next couple of weeks.
