I have been collecting information on the Godding family for some time. I understand you are interested in Sarah Harris? My father was named after her side of the family – Harris Bert Godding.
I have her full name as Sarah Catherine Ward Harris. She married Jarudath Newton Harris. She had two children that I know of, Mary Elizabeth Harris, d.o.b. 11-13-1889, d.o.d. 1-18-1962 (my grandmother). She also had a son named Ernest Harris.
My information is that Sarah’s parents were Henry Floyd Ward and Sallie Powell Ward.
I have Henry Ward’s mother listed as Rebecca Mathena.
Sallie Powell’s parents are John Powell and Jane Kirkbride.
Sarah’s daughter, Mary Elizabeth, was the second wife of Bert Lincoln Godding. She had 6 kids.
Ernest Godding, d.o.b. 10-16-21, died in childbirth.
Harris Bert Godding, d.o.b. 7-10-1924, d.o.d. 5-26-1994.
Katherine Godding, d.o.b. 3-21-1926.
Walter Eugene Godding, d.o.b. 8-19-1928, just recently passed away.
Glenn William Godding, d.o.b. 2-19-1933.
Roy Edward Godding, d.o.b. 6-11-1930, d.o.d. 5-20-1973..
Mary Elizabeth Harris was a school teacher.
She and Bert Lincoln Godding lived in Atchison, Kansas.
Bert Lincoln was a carpenter, and also taught woodworking.
