Seeking info on George W. McLain. He was married twice. First to Mary whose last name is unknown and second to Sarah Edwards. The family relocated to Decatur Co., Iowa in early 1850s adn then moved on to Kansas...possibly in or around Harvey or Sedgwick Counties (Newton/Wichita area). George W. McLain, son of John McLain & Mary M. Ketring, was born July 18, 1827 in Bedford Co., PA, and died Bef. 1875 in Kansas. He married (1) Mary A. LNU (last name unknown). He married (2) Sarah Edwards Abt. 1848 in Pennsylvania. She was born Abt. 1830 in PA.
The family is listed on the 1856 CENSUS NEW BUDA TOWNSHIP, DECATUR CO, IOWA but was believed to have moved on to Kansas (quite possibly around Newton in Harvey County or in Sedgwick County to the south).
Children of George McLain and Sarah Edwards are:
i. Rebecca McLain, born Abt. 1849 in PA.
ii. Mary McLain, born Abt. 1852 in PA.
iii. Eliza McLain, born Abt. 1854 in Bedford Co., PA.
iv. Lucy McLain, born Abt. 1859 in New Buda Twp, Decatur Co., IA.
