Pearl M. Anderson was born September 8, 1906 to Gus and Ella Stine Anderson on a farm near Beloit, Ks., and passed away February 9, 1989, at St. John's Hospital in Salina. At an early age his family moved to a farm near Asherville, and he spent the remainder of his life there farming and praticing chiropractic. He was married to Pauline Scholl on January 15, 1943, before going overseas in World War II, serving 3 1/2 years in the South Pacfic with the 31st General Hospital Division. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline, and his parents. On June 4, 1960. he was married to Mavis Guipre Heidrick at Salina, Ks. They made their home in Asherville for 25 years, moving to Beloit in 1985. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Beloit, a life member of VFW Post No. 6242, and the Kansas Chiropratic Association, from which he received the Pioneer Award in 1987. He attended Chiropratic College in Wichita and Chicago. He was a kind and loving husband and brother and step-father, and a friend to all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mavis of the home; his brother Max Anderson and his wife Lucena of Concordia; four step-children and their spouses, Charles and Lila Lee Hupp of Presho, South Dakota, Robert J. and Connie Heidrick of Asherville, Jerry and Marlene Heidrick of Glasco, and Gary and Joyce Hale of Salina; twelve step-grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; and many friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 13, 1989 at the McDonald Funeral Home, Beloit, with Pastor John Grummon of the First Baptist Church officiating. Music was provided by Mr. George Bergmann as vocalist, and Leroy Wiegand as organist. Casket bearers were Darrell Conn,Dennis Conn, Andy Heidrick, Scott Huges and Don Melton. Honorary pallbearers wee Rex Borgen, Jim Burnette, LaVere LaCoe, Russell Melton and Orval Miller. Graveside services were conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 6242. Internment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit.
