Alan E. Anglemeyer, who was from Lyons, KS, served during WWII, with the 549th AAA Bn. I, and others from this unit would like to find him if possible, or at least learn what we can about him.Our Bn. was assigned to the 3rd Army, and attached to the 87th Infantry Division. Alan (Allen?)married after the war and had at least one daughter; there may have been other children. The last I knew of him, many years ago, they were living in Wichita, or Wichita Falls. I am not familiar with the area. I have just located an entry in the 1930 US Census of Butler County, Kansas, that is interesting.Kansas>Butler>El Dorado>Dist. 21. This listing is for the Head-of-family, James H. Anglemire (31);Wife, Goldie G. (29);Daughter, Opal L. (10); Son, Allen E.(8);and Daughter,Virginia (5). While the spelling of the surname differs; viz. Anglemeyer/Anglemire, and also the spelling of Alan/Allen; and further I remember my Alan as being a couple of years younger; I still have a very strong feeling that this is the same family, based on what he told me of his family. We served together for several years, and had lots of conversations. However, this was a long time ago. Any information about this lost friend will be very greatly appreciated by all who served with him. David F. Thompson dfthompson@bellsouth,net Notify Administrator about this message?
