Have you tried looking for the marriage record in Mitchell Co, Kansas? Mitchell Co, KS is two counties east of Rooks Co, KS.

Mitchell, Rice Co, Kansas is quite a distance from Stockton, Rooks Co, KS - in a southeasterly direction.

Could be the submitter for LDS record meant Mitchell Co, KS and not Mitchell, Rice Co, KS.

Just a suggestion.
