I'm researching the "Kubitsky" name and found your excerpt to be enlightening. My family spells our name with an "S" instead of a "Z" and a "Y" instead of an "I", however my grandfather could have made the change from "Kubitzki" to "Kubitsky". I'm not sure when and if it was him or my great grandfather.

My grandfather was Leo Henry Kubitsky and resided with my grandmother Christine, "Tina" in West Hazleton, PA. My grandfather was born in West Hazleton on November 4, 1910. His father's name was Anthony and his mother's name was Victoria. My grandfather was the mayor of the town and also taught history at the local high school. I will have to go through my records and find out his term in office as mayor and how long he sat on the board in the House of Representatives.

I believe my great grandmother Victoria came from Poland but I will have to inquire with my father for more details.

I think Victoria's name on her obituary stated that she was "Kubitzki". That's why I will have to look at what information I have and inquire further with my father.

Any connection or information you have would be appreciated. Hope to hear something soon.

Thanks
