"FRANK AND MARIE KUCERA
Frank J. Kucera, born March 2, 1838, in Bohemia, came to America with other
immigrants and after landing, some of the group went to Chicago. He married
Marie Sevcik in 1860. She was born September 28, 1840, in Jarov, Kraj Plzen,
Bohemia. They came to the United States with two children on July 4, 1868,

Braidwood, Illinois, in 1872 where Frank worked in the coal mines for seven
years. They migrated to Nebraska in 1879, locating on the SW1/4 of Section 7,
Atlanta Township, Saline County. Frank purchased this quarter on contract
from the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad, receiving the deed on June
3, 1884. In 1889, Frank gave up farming, moving the family to Milligan into
the house one block east of main street from the bank. They resided here
until his death on March 26, 1921, at the age of 82 years. He was a member
of Rad Rabi Lodge, being present at every meeting. Marie died March 31,
1925, with burial in the Bohemian National Cemetery near her husband.
