The only info I could find was the 1900 census of Newark NJ showing the family living on Montgomery Street.
Spelling was CARL Kuffner born May 1858 and Leopold born Nov 1858. They had been married 17 yrs (which indicates they came to US within one year after their marriage. Carl was working as a bagmaker. They had 3 children: Katie who was born 1886, Lillian born 1892 and Norbert born 1899.
