What I found out from my husband, is that his father voluntarily took the "z" out of the name. My husband put the "z" back in his name after he got out of high school. My husbands' grandfather DID have the "z" in his name.
I am taking a break (a very short one) from researching this family so I finish up another line on my side, but will start back up on the family sometime in March. Will get back in touch with you and figure out where all this goes. I know that there were something like 142 Kuleszas that came thru Ellis Island. You might want to try checking there. There is (somewhere on the net) a Kulesza family forum or something like that. From what I understand, all the Kulesas go back to Kulesza. (with the "z").
