I purchased the subject undated studio portrait taken by Richardson, Kaukauna, WI. It is identified on the back:
"A. J. Kull - 19 yrs.
High School Graduation
I found this individual listed in the 1900 (resided on Fourth St.) and 1910 (resided on Second St.) Census data for Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI; and in the 1920 (resided at 721 Prentice Ave.) and 1930 (resided at 1001 Ellis Ave.) Census data for Ashland, Ashland Co., WI. I also found his WWI draft registration card. He is included in One World Tree.
Alfred was born 4 Feb 1888 in Montreal, Ottawa, Canada, the son of Albert Kull, born Sep 1866 in France, and Mathilda (maiden name unknown), born Dec 1870 in Canada. The family immigrated in 1882.
Alfred married Lydia E. Gunschevich, born 21 Aug 1886 in WI. Their children (all born in WI) were:
Violet F., born Mar 1910
Rose, born about 1912
Daisy, born 1913
Lilly, born 1916
Cleon Alfred, born 6 July 1918
Jack, born 1921
Alfred, the son of a railroad brakeman turned conductor, was employed as a railroad waymaster in 1910. He worked for the City of Ashland in 1917. In 1920 and 1930 he was the owner/manager of a creamery. He died 6 Oct 1972 in Ashland Co., WI.
