Jane Darrow, born in 1830 in (Mecca) Farmington, Trumbull, Ohio, was a daughter of Jedediah Darrow and Laura Wade. She was also a sister of Nathan B. Darrow, born 1828 in Farmington, Trumbull, Ohio. In 1850, Jacob and Jane Kulp were enumerated in the household just above that of Nathan Darrow, in the town of Valley, Morris, Kansas.
Nathan Darrow served in the Civil War and I have his thick pension file. A number of affidavits on his behalf were signed by Jacob and/or Jane Kulp. Some were dated in the 1890s and were filed in Garrettsville, Portage County, Ohio. One was filed in Pennsylvania. These were also places where Nathan lived, so the Kulps may have traveled to those places to sign the affidavits. On the other hand, they probably lived at least close enough so that such a trip would have been relatively easy.
