Dear cousin Karen:
The parents of the three KULP sisters, who married the three FRETZ brothers, are my 5th great
Tilman KULP was born Abt. 1700 at Kreigsheim, Palatinate, Germany and he died February 1763, at Erwinna, Tinicum Township, Bucks County, PA. He mrd. Abt. 1727 at Kriegsheim, Palatinate, Germany to Judith (maiden name unknown). Judith was born Abt. 1702 in Kriegsheim, Palatinate, Germany and died (date unknown) in Erwinna, Tinicum Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
They sailed from Germany to Pennsylvania in 1729, aboard the sailing vessel, ‘Mortonhouse’, where they disembarked at the Port of Philadelphia. They were early settlers at Deep Run, Pennsylvania, where they resided from Abt. 1730 until some years later, when they resettled near Erwinna, in Tinicum Township, Bucks County. They had at least twelve children, namely Jacob, Maria, Peter, Dorothea, Abraham, Judith, Agnes, Tilman, Catharine, Henry, John, and Gertrude. My own ancestor in the family is Jacob KULP /CULP, b. 1729, who was the first-born child in the family. Judith was pregnant, with Jacob, when they set sail for Pennsylvania, in 1729, on the “Mortonhouse”.
You would also be interested in learning that Tilman Kulp’s father was the well-known Mennonite minister, Bishop Peter KOLB, b. 1671, d. 1727, of Mannheim, in the Pfalz. Peter Kolb's parents, in Mannheim were Dielman and Angenes (Schumacher) Kolb.
I hope that this may give you a little better insight on the parents of the three KULP sisters, who married FRETZ brothers.
Kindest best regards,
