I am not sure - the Ferdinand Kumm in my ancestry came over from Schneidemuhl (now Pila in Polamd)in the 1850's. He married Wilhelmine Dunhirt in 1860 in Massachusetts (although they lived in CT). There is no daughter Augusta. It is possible, though, that the Ferdinand you reference is a cousin - do you know where in Germany/Poland they came from? I know that my ancestor Ferdinand had a sister named Ernestine, a brother named Gustav, a sister named Augusta who live in Michigan around 1900 and had the last name Meyer at that time, and a sister Louise (last name Mueller - never immigrated to my knowledge). Does any of this seem to link in?
