Hi Dennis,
Having been raised by my grandmother and her mother was Mary Kunkle Hancock who was alive and well til I was ten. I remember a lot of their family stories.
One of which was that Mary had a brother John who was killed in the civil war when he was sixteen.
Though his death was not we found the fact he was our Uncle Kunkle very funny. The memory stuck.
Though I have never tried to prove it.
Mary's father was John.
