You and me both! They are my 2G-grandparents. I have been completely stonewalled in finding his parents. So far as I have been able to learn, there were two Kunkle brothers who migrated to Darke County, OH (borders Randolph County), but Jacob does not seem to fit into either family. I recently discovered that on 10 Sept, 1840 Wm. M. Dooley transfered 90 acres in Nieve Twp, Darke Co. to Jacob Konkle and on 22 June 1842 John Konkle transfered this same property to John Gotshall. This would coincide with the 1860 census recording that Jacob P's two oldest children were born in Ohio. I have the feeling that this is our Jacob, but cannot figure out the sale by John.
