Sarah, I have been trying to find the immigration records for Adam and Jacob and these seem to match what we know- they are both on Ancestry.

Arrived 7 May 1832 New York
Source: New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957
from LeHavre, France on the ship Horizon
Jacob Kuntz, age 33 Weaver
Catherine, 25, wife
Jacob, 7
John, 5
Peter, 2

Source: New York, 1820-1850 Passenger and Immigration Lists
Arrived 20 May 1847 from Havre, France
Ship: Francis Depau
Origin: Deutschland
Adam Kintz b. abt 1796
Elizabeth b. abt 1802
Elizabeth b. abt 1827
Caroline b. abt 1829
Dorothea b. abt 1831
Catherine b. abt 1833
Margaretha b. abt 1835
Adam b. abt 1837
Magdalina b. abt 1839
Johannes b. abt 1846

What do you think? Did you see the "tree" I posted to your message re Adam on the Koontz forum. The youngest girl on the 1850 census is probably "Lina". Ancestry transcribed it as "Law" and it looks like Lore or Lane to me. But on the 1860 census she is clearly Magdalene.
