Hello! I believe I may be a distant cousin of yours! I am the great granddaughter of a Walter Kunz, who immigrated with his brothers, wife, and children from the area around the German/Swiss/French border,(they spoke a medieval period dialect that combined both german and french, as well as fluent german and french) whose immediate family settled around the Cincinnati area. His youngest son, also named Walter, was my grandfather, and the first child in his family to be born an American. My grandfather was a minor league ballplayer and talented musician, singer, and performer, and worked the vaudeville circuit around Cincinnati with his jazz orchestra and singing quartet; they had a weekly radio show during the 20's and 30's, and performed Friday and Saturday nights on the Coney Island Showboat dinner and dancing (and speakeasy) cruise. He died in the late 30's. My father and brother are *also* named Walter, and my dad had several cousins and uncles named Frederick and Paul. If any of this matches what you know about your family's history, please let me know - I'd love to know more about my dad's family's history! Thanks!!! -Marianne
