Have seen it spelled both ways. on marriage certificates of 2 women, it is spelled Katschke, however a brother is listed Kutschke in several places. Henrietta Katschke is my great grandmother. Her marriage certificate in 1872 indicates her place of birth as Scherwins, Hinternpommern
The marriage Certificate of Caroline Katschke, 1883 also lists Scherwins Hinterpommern as place of birth. Trying to find out if they are sisters.
