John Bridges Easley

Does anyone know why John Bridges Easley, son of Alfred N. Easley and Louisa Jane Threkeld, got his name of "John Bridges?" His vitals are 9 Feb 1851 - Crittenden, Kentucky; Death: 25 Dec 1914 - Crittenden, KY. I am descended from John Bridges of Livingston/Crittenden counties in KY, and am wondering if these families connect somehow.

Thanks
