I wish any of you or you're older parents, or Grandparents might have ever heard of this man. Uncle Jonah/Jonas Rushing became a local favorite at Barn Dances and even weddings from what I've heard and played on most any given weekend around crittenden, caldwell, lyon and livingston Counties in KY. From what my father told me everyone liked him and he carried his fiddle wherever he went, even if just going to visit someone. Uncle Jonas played passionately with several differnt bands throughout the years until his health began to deteriote and finally had to go to a rest home. He passed away in 1967. I am really looking for any photos of this kind man at any age and Particularly some of him in photos with his Band Members. I have 1 photo of him and 3 band members with instruments in hand, but can only barely make out the names on the back. It says Jonas Rushing,?? Brown, Nat/Nate Sutton, the other i do not know but will post it soon so that maybe someone out there can. He always stayed around the crittenden, caldwell do areaalthogu he live lastly on Lily Dale Rd over in Crayne Ky.He was married to Annie O. Smith and I hear they had 3 children who still live there. Please folks ask around you're fathers, mothers, there fathers and mother and youre grandparents. I'll close by saying he knew a lot of folks down arond Fredonia too. so please get the word out and make our family holiday special. Thanks so much...
