I am searching for information on my grandmother, Bessie E. Fritts, born 1886, in Crittenden, Ky. to Phillip W. Fritts and Modenia LaRue (Matthews) Fritts ( my gr-grandparents). She married Samuel D. Schroyer, on June 12, 1905 in Pope Co., Il. Samuel was born March 3, 1873 in Huntington, In., we think. We are searching for information on his life also. Phillip W. Fritts was born Dec. 8, 1858 in Crittenden and died there on July, 4, 1896. He was the son of Phillip McChesney Fritts, b. Feb. 13, 1833 in Roane Co., Tn. and died July 30, 1896 in Crttenden. and Pernecia M. (Wilson) Fritts, b. abt. 1833, Livingston, Ky. and died June 26, 1877 in Crittenden. Modenia's parents were William H. Matthews, born Sept. 12, 1845 in Barren Co., Ky. and died Jan. 14, 1926 in Crittenden and Matilda (Tabor) Matthews, born Sept. 14, 1851, Ky. and died July 3, 1926. in Crittenden, Ky.To my knowledge they had the 4 daughters, Modenia, Cynthia, who I can find no trace of, Etha, and Sarah.There may be some sons but not sure. If anyone can shine some light on these families especially on the daughters and their families (especially Bessie) I would be thrilled to say the least. From Phillip McChesney Fritts and William H.
