Original Boundary of Floyd Co., KY

Found a map printed in "The East Kentuckian" naming and showing position of the modern counties which used to be part of the original Floyd Co., Ky.
In the north, the county line takes in Louisa in What is now Lawrence Co., runs almost due west cutting present day Elliott almost in half and takes a chunk out of what is now Rowan--just below MoreheadThen it drops south following the Licking River into Morgan--not far from that county's western border.at the Wolfe county line it jogs north west into Menifee, nearly to Frenchburg then south back into Wolfe Co., taking in abt 2/3 of Central and Eastern Breathitt (at Jackson), following the North Branch of the Kentucky River. The line cuts through about half of what is now Perry Co. taking in the town of Hazard. Ii angles south east, crosses into Letcher Co. and across it past Whitesburg hitting the state of Virginia line and follows it North east to the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River, which is on the border between what is now West VA and continues slightly North West back to Louisa in Lawrence county.
The rest of the counties I have not listed which were enclosed in that area are: Pike, Martin, Johnson, Knott, Magoffin, and, of course, Floyd. So, If you have people in Eastern KY abt 1800(when map was), look for those counties as part of the very large county of Floyd, which was created in 1799 by an act of the General Assembly. I have no idea the dates of the creation of the other counties. Happy hunting. Iris
