Hello again Melanie,
You are correct. John Kyffin, born <1822> in Lanfairtalhaiarn, Denbigh, Wales, Coal Miner, father of Morris and John was married twice. I am not sure about the name of Morris' mother. John's 2nd wife was Catherine Hughes, born <1829> Bala, Merioneth, Wales. Catherine was also married previously. Catherine moved with her sons John and Seth and their families to Denver, Colorado where she is buried. The following link will take you to John and Catherine's listing in the 1881 British census.

If you go to this site you may notice that there are two John Kyffin's, born circa 1822, from the town in Wales. Our ancestor is the coal miner not the agricultural worker.
I still haven't had the opportunity to look for information about Morris for you. I will try to add more later.
