In 1813 my ancestor Philip Carrel, of Jefferson County Ohio, substituted for Joseph Kyser (Kiser) in the War of 1812. My ancestor Philip Carrel was killed in that war. I am trying to find any information on the Joseph Kyser he substituted for. He may have been a relative of Philip's wife Mary, maiden name unknown. They may have been Friends (Quakers). Any clue or information would be most appreciated.
