Hi Clayton, I don't know if any of this will help, however, I too have a several Thomas Kytes (KITE) in my ancestry. The one that might interest you most was born in Snargate or Lydd, County Kent, England probably about the time of your Thomas Kyte. His nephew, my ggggrandfather Felix Kyte came to America in 1821. He wrote his memoirs in which he said that his uncle Thomas was still alive when he left England, but that he had met a man in America who had claimed to be the maker of his coffin.Thomas, he wrote, had a son and a daughter who came to America, who both died here one on a ferry boat and the other somewhere out west. He gave no names for his cousins. He did name one of his 10 children Thomas.Felix lived in Sullivan County, New York and was a Congregational Minister.
If any of this helps, contact me and I will try to send you whatever else I have about Thomas Kyte of England.
