O'Malley, Rush, Burke and Duffell 1870s

Looking for any information on these Irish families who lived around Donaldsonville, Ascension Parish in the 1870s and '80s.

Thomas O'MALLEY, son of Thomas O'MALLEY and Ellen McDERMOTT, b. 1833 in Ireland, worked as a levee contractor on the Mississippi River.

He married Catherine RUSH, daughter of Thomas RUSH and Catherine GAFNEY, b. about 1849. They had two children, John, b. 1866 and Anne Marie or Maery, b. 1868.

After Kate Rush's death in 1872, Thomas O'Malley married Mary BURK(E). They had three sons:
Thomas, b. 1874
Charles Francis, b. 1876
Patrick, b. 1878

Witness to Charles' baptism were John O'Malley and Ann DUFFELL. I wonder if they were an aunt and uncle or something.

Charles went west to New Mexico and married Augusta FLECK in Las Vegas. They were my g-grandparents.
