Yes! There was once a sawmill named Carson in what is now Beauregard Parish. Any references prior to 1912 would show it to have been in Calcasieu Parish from which Beauregard was formed. To my knowledge all that remains of the old mill site is the mill pond. The best I recall it is on private property about 3-5 miles South of DeRidder to the East of LA Hwy 27. The old community is maked by a roadside sign. My father, an old "rail-roader", pulled most of those mills and remembered them well.
