I'm searching for information about Patterson M. Lawrence, who was the first husband of my 2G-grandmother, Isabelle Bannister. He married Isabelle on 13 Feb 1873 in Catahoula Parish LA. The marriage license is recorded in the Catahoula Parish Marriage Book B, entry #5906. The wedding was officiated by Rev. John F. Marchall, and was witnessed by E. J. Ellis, W. C. Sargent and Thomas E. Sargent.
Isabelle married a second time to my 2G-grandfather, William John Valentine, on 27 Mar 1881 in Catahoula Parish. I don't know if Patterson and Isabelle divorced or whether Patterson had died prior to her remarriage. I don't know of any children born to the marriage of Patterson and Isabelle.
I've found Patterson's name on an 1878 Voters Registration list for Catahoula Parish, where his birth year and location is indicated as 1846 and NC. I don't have access to the 1880 US census of Catahoula Parish or the surrounding parishes, so I don't know if Patterson and/or Isabelle appear in that census record.
Any information or leads about Patterson and his family and life with Isabelle would be greatly appreciated.
