Hello,
Looking to see (let's be honest... hoping that) someone might have some information on the VAY family of Baton Rouge (city).
I know that G.L. Vay was the mayor of Baton Rouge from 1884-1888, and from 1890-1894.
According to family story, G.L. Vay's daughter Edna married my fiance's ggrandfather, Martin Edward Regan.
Edna was born abt. 1891.
Remarkably, even though G.L. was a mayor (and served in various other governmental posts, from some research) I can find next to nothing on this family from my post here in Oakland.
So now I am wondering if there is really a dearth of information on this family, or if all pertinent information is within the confines of BR Parish.
If anyone has any information on G.L. or his family, or has an applicable reference, I'd be most obliged!
