I am researching my GGGG-Grandparents Richard BROWN & Jane BRIDGES BROWN of Iberville Parish, Louisiana. I believe they came to Iberville Par. early 1800 from Davidson County, Tennessee. Richard BROWN died 1827 and Jane BRIDGES BRZOWN died 1836 in Iberville Par. LA. Their children were:
1.) Moses BROWN-Married-6 July 1837 to Mary BROWN. She was dau. of Thomas BROWN & Ester TARINGTON. Mary BROWN's first marriage was to Thomas CORNELIUS.
2.) Richard BROWN-He married Sarah WHITE.
3.) Jane BROWN-She married James BROWN. So far I have found that Jane BROWN & James BROWN had one son, Joseph R. BROWN-Born-1835 and married-20 Aug. 1860 to Mary Ann LANGLOIS.
4.) Rachel BROWN-She married John MILIEAU. I don't know if that last name o MILIEAU is spelled correctly.
5.) Thomas J. BROWN-He died-1828 in East Baton Rouge par. or East Feliciana Par. He lived in Clinton, La. which is in E. Feliciana Par. I believe his middle name was "Josiah". Thomas married Mary Hays from South Carolina. They had at least 3 children known:(A) Rachel BROWN-Born-1814 and married James DELAUNE. She died-1876 and buried Hoo Shoo Too Road in DELAUNE Cem. i East Baton Rouge Par. (B) Emanuel BROWN-no info. (C) Lydia Ann BROWN-Born-1818 in Clinton, La. She married John Barclay BIXLER in 1844. In 1867 they moved to Plain Dealing, La. in Bossier Parish.
6.) Joseph BROWN-All I know of Joseph BROWN is he lived in East Feliciana Parish, La.
7.) William C. BROWN-He married-28 May 1822 St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Baton Rouge? to Mary Joseph DAIGLE. Mary DAIGLE was dau. of Paul DAIGLE & Marie Joseph RICHARD. William C. BROWN & Mary DAIGLE BROWN had these children known: (A) Mary Ann Amelia BROWN-born-1827 married George KLEINPETER and had 11 children. (B) Samuel BROWN-1824-1832.
(C) Carmelite-1829. Married William KLEINPETER. (D) William BROWN-1826-no info.
8.) Terry B. BROWN-Married Susan LISENBEE-no info. Was his middle name BRIDGES?
9.) Sarah BROWN-Born-@1801. She married William C. TUCKER. They lived in East Baton Rouge Parish, LA.
As you can see I need HELP !! I have double trouble here with BROWN's marrying BROWN's !
