I apologize for not getting back to you more quickly, but the past week has been a very busy one for us. You aksed about the Saurage family, and I'm sorry to say that what I have is rather limited. I've got well over 100,000 individuals in my data base, but mostly on my father's
Acadian/Cajun French side. My mother was French also,but not Acadian, and I have a fair amount of data on her family line (Marionneaux), another well known Louisiana family,especially in the Plaquemine area. However, the information I have on her Saurage line is sparce. I do know that Ada Hargoua married my great-grandfather, Charles Jacob Valcourt Marionneaux. Ada's father was Pierre Hargoua (the first and only Hargoua to come to America. Pierre Married Alphonsine Saurage, possibly near Plaquemine, although I'm not sure of this. Most of their children were born in Mississippi and Alphonsine is buried in Biloxi.
Alphonsine was the daughter of Paul Saurage and Marguerite Adeline Trosclair. Information I have indicates that Paul was the son of Nicolas Saurage and Marie Tiercuit. I believe that Nicolas was the son of Caietano Saurage of France. I have little documentation to support the latter link, so if you have anything elso, I'd appreciate it. Hope this helps.
