Marvin married Dora or Dola Meche he was married to my grandmother they were a young couple when I have been told that he died from fall off horse. Grand mother was born 1895.
Marvin was on the census with his family he was close to the same age as my grandmother about 1889. I have marriage lie# 19 apr 1913. He died sometime before 1924.
I would like to have a picture of him, if possible,Dora suffered alot of loss in a short amount of time, found herself at her brothers house in cajun fashion her brother William arrange for her to marry my grandfather who had children grown, and at home. Well they still had to get Dora to agree to marry this man, so she agreed having no children herself she asked that if she had a son he would be named for her deceased husband Marvin....
I have Dora and Marvin Lyons on the 1920 census, Rayne area of Acadia Parish, La. I am not saying that she did not care for grandpa but, she never spoke of him to me, he died before I was born. I believed she married for convience the second time...and for love the first time. There was a picture of her as a young girl and she had a piece of jewelry on her, I asked about it because she never wore jewelry and she told me her sweetheart gave it to her. Grandmother was normally very straight faced, she smiled looking out the window with such a smile I had never seen before. Never asked her about him, now I wish I had...
Simon Lyons or Dallas Lyons possible father to Marvin and Parvin....I used to have picture of his sisters, appeared to be of means, or at least better than grandmother had it later.
