I traced George W out, father Gabriel F, then traced Gabriel backwards.
About the only way I can think of that you can document George to be Gabriel's son, other than census, is if something is found in George's military papers or if he made out a will. Gabriel's estate too may make mention of son George, dec'd, but if George left no wife or child behind I think it's doubtful if Gabriel would mention him then unless he had a large enough estate that they wanted to be sure to count and name all his heirs.
