Hi Susan,
Thanks so much for all of the info you have posted.
My research seems to become more complicated w/added info, and I continue to be intrigued by unanswered data.
My ggrandfather, WILLIAM LAWRENCE WEELDON, black, born 1829 SC, continues to be a puzzle.
Family lore has it that WE were FPOC, coming from England as indentured servants.
I am unable to document any of this, nor can I establish VA or SC ties to the family.
It seems quite strange to me, that in 11yrs of searching,
I have yet to hear from anyone of kin.
I am certain that VA figures in family history as I was told, and have seen a SNOWDEN connection before; just have to try to connect the pieces.
I suspect that some horrific family rift occurred, and that may be why no one has contacted me.
