Will/William Chappell came to Texas from? 1800's

My great grandfather came to Texas ?McLennan County some time in the 1800's . I know nothing about his family or place of origin , I have rambled around looking for him until I am dizzy. All I know is he was supposed to have come from Louisiana.
My ggrandmother was Hattie Nelson. They had four sons Albert (died as an infant) Handy,Horace, Albert (my grandfather).
He later married Roberta Owens and they had four girls Roxie,Velma,Christine and Mary Francis.
