I found these census for the Clay Chauvin who m. in 1899 to Aglae Martin. If you recognize these names, then the Clay you have the SS for is an incorrect Clay Chauvin. There are several Clay Chauvin located. It is surely possible, but not very likely that two Clay Chauvin married two Enola Martin. I did not find a birth record for this Clay or Cleopha Chauvin. According to census he would be born about 1870. I have found birth records for a few of his siblings. Please, feel free to email me cfdaigleATbellsouth.net AT equals at sign Clay (Cleopha) living with father, brother, and grandparents in 1880. 1880 Terrebonne Parish, LA census; Ward 7; June 29, 1880 Chauvin, Adolphe, head, 65, farmer ............, Eugenia, wife, 55, keeps house ............, Adolphe, son, 35, widow, laborer ............, Wickliff, gr son, 15 ............, Cleopha, gr son, 9 All in this home and their parents b.
