FYI: She is most likely referring to the town of Plaquemine, a few miles downriver from Baton Rouge and on the opposite (western) side. Not to be confused with Plaquemines Parish which is east of New Orleans and bordering the Gulf of Mexico. During the mid-1830s, cholera was on a rampage througout much of the US, not just New Orleans. Notify Administrator about this message?
