Heavens are you right about the spelling! This fill out a lot of details in some of the outlines I have. She was the daughter of a slave or a freedwoman (I believe), but I have seen Pujo as her father. He was also the father of a Cormier (1869 Orleans Parish Birth Index) and there his name was spelled "Amaidee Pegue!"
